Job Description:
A company is looking for a Health Information Coder to assign
codes to diagnoses and procedures in accordance with coding
guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD and CPT
codes
Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly according to
regulations
Communicate with medical staff for clarification on documentation
issues
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Coding certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC required
One to two years of hospital inpatient coding experience
Two-year degree in Health Information Management or related field
preferred
3+ years of hospital inpatient coding experience preferred
