Director, Information TechnologyThe Director's responsibilities
will encompass both strategic leadership and operational oversight
in support of AI initiatives and Cenlar's application development
modernization journey. The Director, Information Technology is the
owner of one or more IT products, services, and/or programs,
accountable for creating and leading a high-performance team to
deliver business results.Responsibilities:
- Develop roadmap and an execution strategy for modernization
efforts while maintaining awareness of all options for
modernization, whether off the shelf, internal development, or
otherwise.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify AI use cases and
communicate the value of AI initiatives to senior management,
presenting compelling business cases and ROI analysis.
- Execute on a comprehensive strategy to leverage artificial
intelligence (AI) across the organization, identifying potential
applications, overseeing AI projects, and ensuring alignment with
business goals; while leading a cross-functional team to design,
develop, and deliver impactful AI solutions with measurable
results.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and trends to identify
new opportunities for innovation and evaluate the technical
feasibility and potential impact of AI projects at Cenlar.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning and
provide mentorship and guidance to team members on technical and
leadership aspects.
- Accountable for all technology operations (e.g. knowledge
management, infrastructure, project management, a digital service,
etc.) associated with their product or service, and evaluates them
according to established goals.
- Devise and establish projects and systems to support the
implementation of strategies set by upper management; recommend
those strategies to upper management.
- Recommend for purchase efficient and cost-effective services,
equipment, and/or software, and build and maintain relationships
with key vendors and create cost-effective contracts.
- Manage budget and report on expenditure for their respective
product(s).
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made,
including but not limited to compliance and operational risk.
Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our
clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and
regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment
regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and
escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as
effectively supervising the activity of others and creating
accountability with those who fail to maintain these
standards.
- Ensure all activities are in accordance with Cenlar's approved
risk appetite statement and applicable compliance and regulatory
requirements.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a managerial role and as an IT
product or service owner or similar role with focus on emerging,
transformational technologies such as AI.
- Solid understanding of AI techniques including large language
models, machine learning, deep learning, natural language
processing, and computer vision.
- Experience developing a modernization roadmap and execution
plan leveraging emerging technologies to deliver transformational
business results.
- Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT
vendors, and IT systems and their specifications.
- Sound understanding of the IT environment as applies to the
particular product (e.g. emerging technologies, industry/market,
computer systems, hardware/software, networks, etc.).
- Experience in controlling IT budget.
- Must be able to lead an organization that supports applying
strategy, critical thinking, and performance metrics to ensure we
deliver value to our clients as well as the underlying investors,
insurers and guarantors.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication abilities; skilled in client, legal,
and executive communication.
- Demonstrated ability to create a high-performance team that
delivers results, strong compliance and control environment
experience as well as a passion for winning.
